This isn’t a basic guide on playing Civ 6, more of beginners hints and ideas on how to improve your game play and ultimately enjoy the game more. These helped me get the information I need to be slightly better and learn about all the rich detail of the game. Grrrrr. In this guide I am going to go through a few tips and tricks I have learnt whilst playing Civilization 6. This an extreme example, but it really did occur to me - and only on the Warlord level!!. I almost feel like nuking the city those ungrateful prats. They were extactic and had 20% faster growth, and 10% better output for consutruction and more.įine, BUT, a smallish war which didn't damage the city resulted in the fussy buggers going straight down to -1 amenity! I could beleive it. What annoyed be is I had like +7 amenities in a city of 11. Or, basically ignore it, save hassle, but have lower production. I mean make sure there are always enough amenities which can take time, requires trade (usually) and certain buildings. Still there is loss in production as you stated. Interesting, no revolts, glad to hear that. I like the idea of having an entertainment center in a central city. Up until now I have ignored the lack of amenities, resulting in sub optimal production though never any revolt.

makes more sense to convert excess food tiles into production tiles. When you cram you cities fairly close to each other, you will probably have citizens working weak tiles (district slots, tundra, desert mines) so it's somewhat pointless to grow those cities further.

especially tiles along rivers can be worthwhile (lumbermills next to rivers get an additional free production point). afaik that also creates 2 amenities in the owning city and another +1 in nearby cities.Īnd it doesn't hurt to replace excessive farms with forests & lumbermills to generate more production. that's another +2 amenities for all cities in range.Īlso, if you have a good faith income, you can place a national park in a convenient location. AI doesn't seem to value entertainment districts highly, so chances are pretty good that i can also grab the collosseum (which can only be built next to an entertainment district). I usually build a relatively early entertainment district in my capital or a nearby city in a location that reaches about 3-5 other cities.
